Katya Jarmulowicz is from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at St. Olaf College under the instruction of Dr. Jenna McBride-Harris. During her time at St. Olaf, she served as principal horn of the St. Olaf Orchestra and had the opportunity to perform as a soloist. Following her time at St. Olaf, she attended the Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with Jennifer Montone and Jeffrey Lang. She has spent summers at Eastern Music Festival, the Chautauqua Institute, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and Tanglewood Music Center.

She recently joined the Omaha Symphony as associate principal horn and is currently serving as acting principal for the 2026-2027 season. Additionally, she is a substitute musician with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

When not playing horn, Katya spends time doing arts and crafts, cooking, and taking care of her plants.
